Revitalising the Roof: A 12-Hour Moss Removal Transformation
A moss-covered roof is more than just an aesthetic issue; if left untreated, it can lead to moisture retention, tile degradation, and blocked guttering. Fortunately, a focused 12-hour project is often all it takes to strip away years of organic growth and restore a home’s kerb appeal.
The Morning Phase: Preparation and Manual Removal (Hours 1–4)
The first half of the day is dedicated to safety and the "heavy lifting." After securing ladders and fall-protection equipment, the process begins with manual scraping.
Using specialised roof scrapers shaped to the specific profile of the tiles, the bulk of the moss is removed while dry. This stage is crucial because:
